Short Course Trail Method: The Strategic Path to 15–30K
Are you ready to build towards your short course trail race (15-30km) while enjoying the process along the way? If you can already comfortably cover 10km and have a consistent running routine, this 8-week program is designed to help you conquer the trails and achieve your race day goal!
This plan is built on the philosophy of Raw Endurance, which means focusing on how your body actually feels rather than constantly checking your watch data. Out on the trails, your watch is just a tool; the real goal here is to help you connect with your internal pacing, learn your body's feedback across changing elevations and terrain, and use genuine effort to build endurance and consistency.
The Program Structure
The training is split into 2 x 4-week blocks. Every block uses a structure of three building weeks followed by one easier week to let your system recover and adapt to the specific demands of trail running.

Feel-Based Training: Our 5-tier framework—covering Easy, Aerobic, Tempo, Threshold, and VO2/Fast intensities—removes the pressure of pace data. This is especially vital on the trails, allowing you to become completely in tune with your rhythm and effort regardless of the gradient or technicality of the path.

Dynamic, Practical Workouts: Keep your training fun and engaging with hill repetitions, technical trail sessions, along with sustained tempo efforts to build strength and climbing power.

Specific Conditioning: Integrated cross-training and runner-specific conditioning to strengthen your body for uneven terrain, ward off injuries, and expand your aerobic engine.

Staying Loose: Your best performance will come from a state of efficiency, without tension. You will practice active mental cues to keep your form smooth when navigating technical descents or when a climb gets demanding.
