If you are already comfortable with the 10km distance and are looking to sharpen your performance, this 8-week program is designed to improve your running economy and overall speed.
The plan embraces the philosophy of Raw Endurance, where your internal feedback loop takes precedence over watch metrics. We use the watch as a reference point, but the work itself is driven by your body’s signals. The objective is to refine your ability to hold higher intensities for longer, building the muscular and cardiovascular resilience required to execute a perfect 10km race.
The Program Outline
• Structured Progression: The load is broken into 2 x 4-week blocks. Each block builds your speed and endurance over three weeks, followed by a week where we ease off slightly to let your body absorb the work and hit the next block feeling refreshed.
• Feel-Based Training: Utilising our 5-tier framework—Easy, Aerobic, Tempo, Threshold, and VO2 intensities—you will learn to modulate your output. By training yourself to recognise your effort by feel, you develop the ability to stay in-tune with your body, even when you are pushing your limits.
• Dynamic, Practical Workouts: You will engage in a variety of fulfilling sessions and weekend long runs to refine your speed and train you to maintain form under cumulative fatigue.
• Body Conditioning: To support your running, the program includes cross training as a safe way to build aerobic capacity, alongside specific strength work to stabilise your mechanics and help ward of injuries that are common with long-distance running.
• Mental Strategy: Mastering the 10km distance is as much about psychological discipline as it is physical output. We use targeted tools to build the mental toughness needed to sustain your performance, helping you stay present, composed, and locked-in when the race gets demanding.
